While waiting for her best friend to finish shopping at Harvest Compassion Center, HCC client Vicky struck up a conversation with a lobby volunteer and shared how grateful she is for HCC.

Vicky is now caring for her grandchildren, adding another generation to the household she helps provide for. HCC’s client-choice model gives families like hers the freedom to choose the foods their household needs while helping stretch their grocery budget a little further.

For multigenerational households, that support can make the difference between worrying about what’s for dinner and knowing there will be enough food on the table. Vicky’s story is a beautiful reminder that when we support one family, the impact can reach across generations.

LOVE TO STAY BUSY AND WORK BEHIND THE SCENES? WE NEED YOU!

Harvest Compassion Center North Phoenix is looking for Back-of-the-House Volunteers on Mondays & Saturdays from 8 AM–12 PM!

This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys working in a smaller group, staying active, and getting things done!

Our Back-of-the-House volunteers help:
✨ Greet our Gifts-in-Kind donors
📦 Sort and process incoming donations
🧺 Help with laundry
💙 Keep our center stocked and ready to serve our neighbors!

You’ll play an important behind-the-scenes role in making sure HCC can continue providing food, clothing, and essential items to families in our community.

Lori recently attended the Arizona Diaper Bank luncheon on behalf of Harvest Compassion Center, celebrating the incredible success of Arizona Statewide Diaper Drive Week!

The statewide effort brought communities together to collect an incredible:

🍼 289,682 diapers
💙 $66,405.10 raised
🤝 400 individual donors
📍 15 Arizona counties represented

And Team HCC proudly collected 2,833 diapers during the week!

It was amazing to connect with fellow nonprofit organizations and leaders who are working together toward a shared goal: ensuring every family has access to the diapers their babies need.

DIGNITY SHOULDN’T BE A LUXURY.

Did you know feminine hygiene products are not covered by SNAP, or any other government program? For women experiencing hardship, access to feminine hygiene products isn’t a luxury—it’s a matter of health, dignity, and everyday well-being.

Millions of women and girls experience period poverty. When these essentials aren’t available, women can be forced to miss work or school and may face health risks.

At HCC, we believe every woman deserves to feel healthy, confident, and cared for.

We’re asking our HCC community to come together for women right here in Phoenix.

Client Story♥️

Celeste first visited HCC and shared that life had been incredibly difficult for her family. A mom of four children under age four, she spent the past year navigating more than 35 hospital visits for her one-year-old daughter, while recently losing their housing and staying with friends.

With three little ones still in diapers, she was especially grateful to find the diapers her family desperately needed at HCC. Yet despite everything she was facing, Celeste shared, “Things are really, really hard, but I’ve learned it’s okay to ask for help when you need it. And I’m so happy to be here.” We had the privilege of praying with her and witnessing a kind, grateful and hopeful spirit that touched our entire team.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that even in the hardest seasons, hope and gratitude can shine brightly. At HCC, we are blessed to walk alongside families like Celeste’s and remind them that they are never alone.
