As family woman, a community woman and a business woman, I bring a unique perspective to this campaign. I am also a strong community advocate that works with several nonprofit organizations within the Phoenix metropolitan area. Most importantly, I am passionate about our children and I want to ensure that we are preparing them to lead the most successful lives that they can. We all have the same g

What a crazy election season! I never thought I would run for anything, but this year I stretched myself and jumped in. I did not win a seat on the board, and knew it would be tough fight against 2 incumbents; but I gave it everything I had until the very end.

Although I was not victorious, I'm thankful for everyone I met throughout my journey (too many to list). I'm also thankful to God for using me to serve my community as I went door to door. I've become a more stronger and humbler person because of it.

This is not the last you've heard of me! There is a fight in our school system, especially in the Roosevelt School District. In January 2017- 4 roosevelt board members, who are all family and friends will once again control the majority vote, the same majority we've had for the last several years. If we want better for our schools the community will need to get involved. I hope you will join me in this fight.

Thank you again for all the love,
Ericka Nicholes

While campaigning, I've delivered food boxes to families, gave resources for SRP bills to be paid, opened my home to an 18 year old that needed a place to stay, and now I'm helping a mom fight to regain custody of her child in DCS. I'm not saying this to boast; but we would not have connected if I wasn't running. God used me to work with the many families in Roosevelt School District. As a Board Member, I will continue to make a difference. We need a board with diverse experience!

If you haven't mailed your ballot, consider voting for the social worker.

Early ballots will be in mailboxes this weekend! Remember to vote the ENTIRE ballot (local races are at the end). If you aren't receiving an early ballot you still have the opportunity to vote early. Residents- our early polling station starts October 17th at South Mountain Community Center.

Roberts: Here's why Arizona schools are starving. 10/11/2016

The budget crisis in the Roosevelt School District is multidimensional. All schools in Arizona need more funding. We also need to elect Board Members who understand the duties as written:
"APPROVING THE BUDGET"
"MONITORING THE BUDGET"
"SETTING SALARIES FOR EMPLOYEES"
"APPROVING PURCHASES"

All of this contributed to the overspending of $5 million (yes, an increase from the original $4.4mil)

We need to have more accountability! Don't vote for name recognition, but for those making a difference. Vote for the only candidate that has a child in the district! Vote for the social worker who can bring in resources!

Roberts: Here's why Arizona schools are starving. Corporate income taxes have plummeted this year, thanks to tax cuts enacted by the Legislature -- with more to come.

Bullying is an issue we need to continue to address. This mom decided to tackle the issue in our community by developing the Detour Program. If you are against Bullying let's support her and the kids from Bernard Black!
