Youth and Government provides hands on civic education experiences for students 6-12 grade.
The Youth & Government Program offers high school students the opportunity to experience and participate in the state governmental process. They learn how Arizona government works from an “insiders point of view” through involvement in civic events and the annual Model Legislature Conference held every fall at our State Capitol in Phoenix. 12 youth advocates from across Arizona came together for the 7th Annual Arizona YMCA State Advocacy Day at the State Capitol
They met with legislators about our 2026 legislative priorities, were recognized on the House floor, connected with leaders across Capitol campus, and even got an up-close look at the famous “bill hopper.”
