Clean Energy = Economic Justice
Energy insecurity isn’t just about power—it’s about financial survival.

For Black and Brown communities and renters, the burden is even heavier:
💸 Over half of households earning under $20K face energy insecurity
🏠 Renters are far more likely to live in inefficient homes that drive up costs
🔥 Poor insulation and outdated systems mean higher bills and unsafe conditions
This is what economic inequality looks like—paying more for less, just to get by.
Clean energy is a path forward.
Lower utility costs.
Healthier homes.
More money staying in your pocket.
Investing in clean energy isn’t just good for the planet—it’s critical for building economic stability in the communities that need it most.

Because no one should have to choose between staying warm and staying afloat.

Clean Energy = Energy Security ⚡🏠
Energy insecurity is real—and it’s hitting Black, Brown, and renter communities the hardest.
Here’s the reality:
⚡ Black and Indigenous households are 2x more likely to experience energy insecurity
⚡ Nearly half of Hispanic households are impacted
⚡ Renters are twice as likely as homeowners to struggle with energy costs
That means families are:
❌ Losing power
❌ Living in unsafe temperatures
❌ Choosing between bills and basic needs
Clean energy changes that.
Affordable, reliable energy like solar and other renewables can lower costs, stabilize bills, and give communities more control over their energy.
Energy security shouldn’t be a privilege—it’s a necessity.

At Freedom Park Center, families, neighbors, and advocates came together to get real about the challenges too many Arizonans are facing—skyrocketing housing costs, rising utility bills, and the urgent need for safe, stable homes. And more importantly, folks left with tools: housing rights information, utility savings support, and home repair resources that can make a real difference.

We were proud to stand alongside leaders and community champions like Dr. Cheree Meeks, Regina Romero, and Rose Taulton—people who are actively working to build a future where every family has a place to call home.

Because this moment demands more than conversation—it demands action.

And that’s exactly what we’re building. Together.

Protecting the Earth is Political 🌎✊

Protecting the Earth isn’t just about recycling or planting trees—it’s about people, power, and policy.
When millions of households are forced to choose between keeping the lights on or paying for food and medicine, that’s not just an environmental issue—it’s a political one.

In 2020 alone:
⚠️ 33.5 million U.S. households experienced energy insecurity
⚠️ 24.6 million had to cut back on food or medicine to pay energy bills
⚠️ Millions lived in unsafe temperatures just to avoid high costs

Who gets access to clean, affordable energy—and who doesn’t—is shaped by decisions made at the top.
Earth justice = people justice. And that means speaking up, organizing, and demanding policies that put communities first.

💸 Tax Day in Arizona: Who’s Really Paying the Price?

Today is Tax Day but in Arizona, the system isn’t working for everyone.

While everyday Arizonans pay taxes out of every paycheck, corporations are winning the tax game.

👉 More than 70% of corporations in Arizona pay just $50 in state income taxes.
👉 At the same time, $1 BILLION in tax credits reduced tax bills in 2022 alone—money that could have funded schools, healthcare, and essential services.

Here’s the problem:

Tax credits and exemptions have been expanded year after year—quietly shifting the burden away from corporations and onto everyday people.

Meanwhile, Arizona’s corporate tax rate has dropped, and fewer dollars are flowing into the state budget—creating real consequences for communities across the state.

The result?
A system that prioritizes big business over working families.

On this Tax Day, let’s be clear:
Arizonans deserve a tax system that works for ALL of us—not just corporations cashing in on loopholes.

Congratulations to the Clean Energy Team!

In a historic win, clean energy champions secured an 8–6 majority on the board—a major step toward putting everyday Arizonans, not corporate interests, at the center of our energy future.

This isn’t just about seats on a board.
It’s about who makes the decisions that shape our bills, our air, and our future.

While this is a powerful victory, the work isn’t over. The fight for clean, affordable energy is just getting started—but this moment shows we’re moving in the right direction.

Our Voice, Our Vote is proud to stand alongside leaders and communities pushing for bold, people-first solutions and bringing new voices to the table in the effort to build a clean-energy Arizona.

Arizona, this is what people power looks like.
Let’s keep going. ✊

Housing should be a goal, not an impossible mission.
For many Arizonans, homeownership feels out of reach, keeping families from building long-term stability and generational wealth.

when people are stuck renting with no way out.

We’re working to expand access to homeownership and create real opportunities for families to build a stronger future.

🏡 Because everyone deserves a chance to thrive — not just survive.

If you’re tired of being a forever renter, sign our affordable housing petition at ourvoiceourvote.us.

More housing doesn’t always mean better or affordable housing.

Too often, new developments don’t reflect what working families can actually afford.

when growth happens without you in mind.

We’re pushing for development policies that prioritize affordability, not just expansion. We want to see new homes go up and long time residents move in. New Home = Affordable housing.

This didn’t just happen.

The housing crisis is the result of policies that made it easier to raise rents — and harder to protect people.
because the rules are working exactly as designed.

We’re fighting to change the rules — for good.

Let’s be real — housing has become big business.
Corporate landlords are raising rents, adding fees, and calling it “market rate.”

Meanwhile, families are struggling just to stay in their homes.

when profit comes before people.
We’re demanding transparency, accountability, and real consequences for corporate landlords.
