Morning doggie walk-a-thon fun at U.S.VETS. No one was left behind(love the last picture)!

They graduated with fully-stocked toolkits—bright red bags stuffed with new equipment and also skills gained to enter construction jobs. Last week, we celebrated nine veterans at U.S.VETS Phoenix who completed a pilot training program with credentials to excel in the industry.

Our partnership with the Home Builders Institute - HBI BuildStrong Academy Phoenix, supported by The Home Depot Foundation and Wells Fargo, brought the training to veterans through a program focused on skilled trades instruction. All earned industry-recognized certifications and made connections with potential future employers, with ongoing support from U.S.VETS’ career services team.

From the classroom to the jobsite, these veterans are now better equipped for in-demand careers built to last.

We love it when good things happen to great people. Thanks to NABC Recycled Rides, Allstate, Camelback Toyota, and other supporters, Matthew Severin, a well-deserving combat veteran, received a Toyota Tacoma.

The power of people to promote kindness and friendship! Today we were blessed to have a bountiful breakfast, a pet clinic, bingo and haircuts. Thank you Vineyard Church North Phoenix, Luke’s Wives Club, Companion Pets In Crisis and the “Gunny.”

Thanks to The Cigna Group Foundation, we’re expanding peer support, career resources and access to mental health counseling—including su***de prevention—while strengthening comprehensive services that promote well-being and help prevent and end veteran homelessness.

Together, we’re helping more Phoenix veterans find stability and bright futures.
