Thunderbird High School congratulates Jaydi Bricker, Class of 2026, on being selected as a recipient of the National Merit Arizona State University Scholarship! 🎉

After first earning recognition as a National Merit Semifinalist in the prestigious 2025–2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, Jaydi has now received this college-sponsored scholarship through Arizona State University — an achievement that reflects outstanding academic excellence, dedication, and hard work.

With plans to pursue a career in Marine Biology, we cannot wait to see all that Jaydi accomplishes next. Congratulations, Jaydi, Thunderbird is proud of you!

Thunderbird’s standout player has been nominated in azcentral’s Top 10 High School Football Athletes in the 2026 Season poll! After earning first-team All-4A honors on both offense and defense and being named the 4A Offensive Player of the Year, Daryl continues to raise the bar. This season, he’s adding another dimension to his game as he takes the lead at quarterback for the THS Titans.

👏 HUGE congratulations to Ivy Odle for continuing her wrestling career at Arizona Christian University!

Ivy has made Thunderbird Wrestling history as the first Lady Titan to place at state — and she did it back to back. We are proud of everything she has accomplished and can’t wait to see her compete at the next level. 🤼💪

Mark your calendars! 📅 The first day of school for the 2026–2027 school year is August 10.

THS NJROTC traveled to Resthaven Cemetery in Glendale to place flags on veterans' graves in preparation for a Memorial Day remembrance ceremony. An annual tradition for THS NJROTC, cadets walked through the cemetery and placed a flag on all grave markers that mentioned military service. The event was led by the unit Operations Officer C/ Aiden Hackett, and more than 20 cadets participated.

THS NJROTC was joined in the event by NJROTC cadets from Glendale and Apollo, as well as a couple of scout troops, making this a true community event. Well done (bravo zulu) cadets!

🎓 Congratulations to the Thunderbird Class of 2026! 🎓

This year, 324 graduates crossed the stage and earned over $9.5 million in scholarships. We are proud of all they have accomplished and excited for what comes next.

Help your student start strong with GUHSD’s free Summer Academy programs. Incoming students can enroll in Project SHARP (June 1–24) for foundational support or take Honors Algebra or Honors Geometry (May 27–June 25) to advance academically.
