The answer to the Weekly EPIC Scenario is:
C: 20 bpm. In children ages 2-14, the proper ventilation rate is 20 bpm. Ages 15+ are ventilated at 10 bpm.
In both pediatric and adult patients, use ventilation rate timers (VRTs) to avoid hyperventilation!

Do you know the ventilation rate in pediatric patients? Answer the Weekly EPIC Scenario!
EPIC - TBI: What is the proper ventilation rate in an 8 year-old patient? Vote on this poll.
The answer to the Weekly EPIC Scenario is:
A: Yes. The amount of fluids given to patients should be treated like drug doses, meaning they should be documented.
Little evidence exists on prehospital fluid administration, and by documenting fluids given, EPIC can help find out how fluids affect patients.
