Probably the single-most surreal stargazing incident yet: I look up from my telescope eyepiece at a Desert Foothills event to see a 6-foot alligator coming toward me and my tripod. You can see how close she came (claw marks next to my tripod leg) before getting dragged away by her wrangler (note drag mark gator traverse in Figure 3).
