Public Allies Arizona provides paid internships with nonprofit partners in Phoenix and Tucson, empowering Allies from all backgrounds and experiences.

We are an AmeriCorps program of the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Public Allies Arizona launched in October of 2006, but we belong to a national network from coast to coast. In collaboration with , Allies hosted 3 different workshops for youth at Homer Davis Elementary, teaching about the cycles of the garden and the creatures that live there ๐Ÿž

Yesterday at S'edav Va'aki...

Allies experienced the preserved va'aki located in what has become Downtown Phoenix. We heard from a museum aide the history of this space and were able to walk though the preserved area and some recreated structures!

Throughout the day, Allies were learning about crafting the ending to their service terms, participating in a program feedback session, and hearing from professionals at on how to begin their investing journeys.

Last week, our Allies had the opportunity to attend a conference hosted by the ASU Lodestar Center focused on human-centered nonprofit leadership in the age of AI.

Allies attended keynotes and sessions to provide valuable insights on evolving technology to bring back to their Partner Organizations!

Today, our Tucson Allies had the incredible opportunity to tour the Dunbar Pavilion, which is a cultural center initially established as Tucson's segregated school for African American students.

Earlier this month, our PAAZ cohort gathered in Tucson at the EON Youth Lounge, located in the Thornhill Lopez Center on 4th Ave. We were greeted with a beautiful, spacious, and welcoming environment, and introduced to their incredible staff.

Allies spent the day focusing on Leadership Action 1: Recognize and Articulate how systemic oppression affects all levels of society. We explored our systems of education, media, healthcare, and law with PAAZ Alum Jade Pablo with assistance from Cassandra Quijada!
