From now through Sept. 30, SVdP will provide heat relief services across the Valley to help our neighbors stay safe during Arizona's most dangerous summer months.
If you or someone you know may need help during these extreme temperatures, please share this post, which includes cooling station locations.
Our summer heat relief efforts include:
🔴Safe, cool spaces where people can rest and recover
🔴Overnight heat relief shelter for those needing a safe place to sleep out of the heat
🔴Cold drinking water and warm meals at our four charity dining rooms (see locations below)
🔴Our water truck will also be delivering hydration, heat relief, and even pet supplies to unsheltered neighbors across the Valley.
🔴Heat relief kits
🔴Fresh showers three times a week for neighbors experiencing homelessness
🔴Connections to shelter, housing, and other critical support services
Together, we can help protect our community and save lives this summer. This work is urgent. Last year, Maricopa County saw 430 heat-related deaths. But together, we can help prevent more tragedy.

Today, we were happy to kick off SVdP’s 100 Days of Summer campaign alongside Swiftie Liftie Club! 😃👏☀
A huge thank you to Swiftie Liftie Club for partnering with us to bring people together for a morning of movement, generosity, and impact. More than 200 community members were in attendance and donated nearly 25,000 bottles of water, helping support our most vulnerable neighbors during Arizona’s hottest months.
SVdP’s 100 Days of Summer campaign is a seasonal effort to help meet increased summer needs, including access to water during extreme heat. At its heart, however, the campaign is about bringing our community together to care for one another and help meet those needs. That is exactly what happened today.
Thank you to everyone who participated and donated water!

Today we celebrated 4 years of service at Washington Street Shelter!
Funded by the City of Phoenix, AZ USA and operated by St. Vincent de Paul, WSS continues to embody the mission to Feed. Clothe. House. Heal.
For 4 years, the shelter has provided care and support to thousands of residents while also caring for their beloved animals through our Companion Animal Program, recognizing the importance of keeping people and their pets together during difficult seasons of life.
We are grateful to celebrate alongside incredible community partners like Walk By Faith Ministries, who brought authentic Hawaiian food, shaved ice, volunteers, and an outpouring of love and compassion to our community.
The celebration also included a delicious grill out prepared by our Chef, Chris Hoffman, while residents and staff enjoyed kiddie pools, water balloons, sq**rt guns, board games, card game tournaments, and a special Bingo event hosted by Helping Hands PHX.
It was a day filled with laughter, fellowship, joy, and genuine human connection as residents, staff, volunteers, and community partners came together in celebration of 4 years of serving some of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors with dignity, compassion, and hope.

Our Washington Street Shelter hosted a Health & Wellness Fair that created a fun-filled day with delicious food, informative activities, and more for our residents.
The fair brought together community partners to provide health resources, hygiene supplies, housing guidance, social services, and many other resources that encouraged engagement and trust throughout their journey toward recovery.
Thank you to every partner, staff member, and volunteer who helped create a supportive space where residents felt seen, valued, and cared for!

Last night, our Dream Center students received a fun surprise! Thanks to the generosity of Charmie Simms and the Bob Bové Foundation, our students now have new sports equipment to help them stay active this summer by playing their favorite sports or trying new ones for the very first time.
In honor of her late husband, Bob Bové, Charmie continues their shared passion for giving back to children in our community. Longtime supporters and loyal bike donors, Charmie and Bob, have always believed in creating joyful opportunities for kids to learn, grow and thrive.
This year the Bob Bové Foundation chose to donate sporting equipment right in time for summer to offer kids a fun and entertaining way to stay active. Our kiddos lit up with excitement as they were given a shopping experience for a sport of their choice.
All equipment was also purchase from C&S Sporting Goods and personally delivered by the team!
