FUN FACT! 🤩 Kangaroo rats don’t need to drink water. Instead, they get their H2O from plants and seeds that they eat! Not too ratty. 🤭

From puddle-like conditions to amazing fish habitat! 🐟 🤩 Here's a World Fish Migration Day story we're excited to share from our own backyard. ➡️
Nestled in the northwest corner of Arizona near the Nevada border, a section of the Virgin River in Littlefield was almost dead from shallow water and lack of habitat. Then, AZGFD biologists came up with the idea to place large boulders in low-functioning reaches of the river. The hope was to restore fish habitat.
The AZGFD team worked with the area's private landowner to install the boulders, and the river soon carved out deep pools of water. The endangered fish, virgin chub, re-colonized this portion of the river, and the restored habitat also created ideal spawning grounds for the migratory flannelmouth sucker!
Best of all, this project was made possible by donations from people like you who support our science-based wildlife conservation efforts. Support other conservation projects like this by donating today at azwildlifehero.com/donate.
