Veterans bring discipline, leadership, and mission‑driven focus to every industry — yet too often, employers and job‑ready veterans aren’t connecting the way they should. The real question is: Is your organization veteran‑friendly, or truly veteran‑ready?

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, in partnership with Upstate Warrior Solution, the SC Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and SCDEW Vets, invites you to a three‑part Veteran Employer Roundtable Series designed to close that gap.

Join us for a breakfast conversation focused on building a strong, sustainable veteran talent pipeline — from outreach and recruitment to onboarding and long‑term retention.

What will be discussed:
• What employers need to confidently recruit and hire veteran talent
• How to translate military experience into civilian job qualifications
• Support systems that help veterans succeed in the workplace
• Partnerships that keep veteran candidates at the top of your talent pool

Roundtable Schedule (8:30–10:00 AM):
• October 22 – Spartanburg | Spartanburg Community College, Tyger River Campus
• October 27 – Anderson | City of Anderson Economic Development
• October 29 – Greenville | Greenville Feed & Seed Co.

You’re welcome to attend one session or all three. Breakfast and materials are provided, and seating is intentionally limited to encourage meaningful, conversation‑driven engagement.

RSVP by October 20:

Let’s work together to strengthen South Carolina’s workforce by building real pathways for those who have served.

Honoring Those Who Serve!

We’re proud to share that the SC Veterans Upstate Salute is returning to Fluor Field on Sunday, November 8, 2026. This annual community tradition—founded by the Upstate Veterans Alliance, a partnership among GE Vernova, Prisma Health, Michelin, and the Greenville Drive—brings our community together to recognize and thank our veterans and active-duty service members.

Join us for an afternoon and evening dedicated to gratitude, connection, and celebration.

Enjoy patriotic tributes, live music, and meaningful moments honoring those who have served.

This year, we’re excited to welcome rising country artist Dylan Marlowe as our headliner.
Admission is free for everyone.

Visit https://upstatesalute.com to reserve your tickets today.

Gates open at 2 PM, and the concert begins at 4 PM. Arrive early to experience special programming, including a vintage warbird flyover, a Special Forces Jump Team demonstration, and exhibitions from local veteran organizations.

Dylan Marlowe—Sony Music Nashville artist and Statesboro, Georgia native—brings a unique blend of country storytelling and punk‑inspired energy to the stage. After moving to Nashville to pursue songwriting, he earned a publishing deal and co‑wrote Jon Pardi’s No. 1 hit “Last Night Lonely.” His own songs, including “Record High” and “Boys Back Home” featuring Dylan Scott, have already surpassed 266 million streams, marking him as one of country music’s most exciting emerging artists.

We hope you’ll join us as we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of our veterans and active-duty military.

Today we recognize an important moment in veterans’ history.

On this day in 1988, the President signed the legislation that transformed the Veterans Administration into the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, giving it Cabinet‑level authority.

It would be another two weeks before the law officially went into effect, marking a historic milestone that strengthened support, resources, and recognition for America’s veterans.
