⚡️ Day 53 at Pickens Middle was a busy day of exploring, experimenting, creating, and learning!
🌎 In 8th Grade Science, students created models to demonstrate how Earth’s position in relation to the sun causes seasonal changes.
🧪 In 6th Grade Science, students investigated how breaking Alka-Seltzer into different forms affects how quickly it dissolves. This experiment connects to their learning about the digestive system and how food is broken down!
📄 In 6th Grade Math, students were introduced to exponents through a paper-folding activity! Each fold demonstrated exponential growth as the number of squares increased.
🌑 In Coach Austin’s Science Class, students explored eclipses and learned more about these fascinating celestial events!
📸 In Dr. Valera’s Yearbook Class, our budding photographers explored aperture settings and how they work in different lighting conditions.
🤖 In 7th Grade ELA, Mrs. McGuinn helped students learn about safe research practices and the use of AI. Developing responsible digital research skills is an important part of being a successful learner!
