The Pilot Rock Police Department has been made aware of a growing safety concern in our community regarding E-Bikes, and E-Scooters. Our agency has seen an increase in accidents involving electric bikes, and electric scooters state-wide, and nationally. There have been several serious injuries, and fatalities connected to these types of incidents.
To help prevent similar tragedies here in Pilot Rock, we are providing families with accurate information, and practical safety guidance. We encourage you to review this information with your child and talk with them about safe, and responsible riding.
When school resumes in August 2026, we hope this reminds students about traffic safety near school campuses, and other public roadways. Our goal is to keep our youth safe as they travel to and from school, and throughout the community.
If you see someone violating the rules of the road with an E-bike, or E-Scooter, please contact the non-emergency Dispatch @ (541) 966-3651.
