Today, on Unity Day, I'm launching βYou're Not Seeing This,β a new public education initiative from the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
Unity Day is about kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. It's also an opportunity to remind young people that they deserve to feel safe and supported, including online.
An ordinary photo turned into a fake n**e. A convincing profile hiding someone's identity. A threat to share intimate images unless a child pays. A group chat where humiliation spreads.
These are situations our campaign helps parents and caregivers recognizeβand respond to.
Through billboards, posters, and online resources, we're providing practical guidance on what to look for, how to start conversations, and where to turn for help.
To adults: Ask. Listen. Stay calm.
To young people: You can ask for help, even if you trusted someone, sent a photo, or already paid. You don't have to handle this alone.
