π₯π₯π₯ Fall Fire Season π₯π₯π₯
From Today (October 1st, 2026) until December 15th, 2026 we will be under a Statewide Burn Restriction. This is different from a Burn Ban!
β: When can you burn?
β
: During a Burn Restriction, you can burn anytime between 6pm till 6am.
β: What can you burn?
β
: You can only burn brush or other wood products.
β: Do you need to let someone know that you are burning brush or having a family bonfire?
β
: Yes, absolutely! We ask that anyone burning prior to lighting the fire get in touch with our E-911 Dispatch Center (McCreary County 911) by calling the non-emergency line at 606-376-9117. Please give them your name, phone number and address of what you will be burning.
β: Is it against the law to burn outside of the aloted time for the burn restrictions?
β
: Yes it is! By burning non-wood products or outside of the given times you could be in violation of KRS 149.400.
β: If you see someone burning outside of the aloted times or burning an illegal material can you report them?
β
: Yes you can! If someone is burning an illegal material, leaving it unattended or is outside of the given time frame you can call our 911 center with the information and they will send your local Fire Department to extinguish the fire.
