Big news — I am the official Democratic Party endorsed candidate for the Contra Costa Community College Board!

With Trump’s attack on public education, there has never been a more important time to protect affordability, equity, and diversity in our community colleges.

As a proud union member, I’m honored to have the sole endorsement of the Contra Costa Labor Council, the local AFL-CIO body representing more than 85 unions and 80,000 union members and their families across Contra Costa County.

Our community colleges should respect the dignity of work, support living wages and good union jobs, and create real pathways for students into family-sustaining careers.

The support of working people across Contra Costa for our campaign is growing. I’m proud to stand with labor in this race.

I’m grateful to be endorsed by Contra Costa County Board of Education President Sarah Butler, a longtime public education leader who has spent years working to strengthen our schools and expand opportunities for students across our county.

From serving on a local school board to now leading the County Board of Education, Sarah understands what it takes to provide strong oversight, protect public education, and keep students at the center of every decision.

I’m thankful for President Butler’s trust in my leadership and honored to have her support as we work to strengthen our community colleges for the next generation.

I’ve worked to deliver for West County as a Mayor and City Councilmember. Now, I’m ready to bring that experience to lead the community college district where I was once a student — protecting affordability, expanding opportunity, and putting students first.

I’m grateful to be endorsed by California State Controller Malia Cohen, our state’s chief fiscal officer and one of California’s leading voices for financial accountability.

Her support means a great deal to me as I work to bring that same focus to the Contra Costa Community College Board. My priority is protecting our colleges’ financial future while keeping students at the center of every single decision.

I’m thankful for Controller Cohen’s trust in my leadership to serve on our Community College Board and honored to have her support.

Thank you to the California Working Families Party for endorsing our campaign! ✊

Community college should be an engine of opportunity for everyone. This means making sure that all students can actually afford to stay enrolled with the resources they need to succeed.

On the Contra Costa Community College Board, I’ll fight to preserve and expand basic needs resources for students, build affordable housing for students and staff, and ensure that tuition remains affordable and accessible.

I’m grateful to have WFP alongside us in our people-powered campaign.

Thank you to the San Pablo Rotary Club for welcoming me in to speak about our vision for the Contra Costa Community College Board!

It was great to discuss our goals of achieving long-term fiscal stability for our district, building student housing, and keeping colleges affordable and accessible for our community.

Here with Linda Vannoy-Castillo, President of the San Pablo Rotary Club.

I’m proud to be endorsed by my friend and mentor, California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

As Trustee, I’ll work to ensure that every student can learn in a safe, welcoming campus environment, regardless of where they come from, the language they speak, their identity, or their path to our colleges. Student success starts with students feeling safe, supported, and able to focus on the future they came here to build.

I’m grateful for Attorney General Bonta’s confidence in my leadership that I will bring to the Contra Costa Community College Board.
