🌦️Weather Readiness
Usings sandbags for flood protection is a commonly used and cost-effective method to provide a temporary barrier against rising waters.

If your property is at risk of flooding, the City provides FREE sandbags. Sandbags are available for Pinole residents at the Plum & Peach Streets Public Parking Lot off Tennent Avenue.
🟤Fill each sandbag halfway to 2/3 full so the bag can mold into place.
🟤Tie or fold the top closed so sand does not spill out.
🟤Pair with plastic to act as the primary- water resistant layer. Sandbags alone are not waterproof.

Please remember to take only what you need. During a flood warning or severe storm, sandbags are a critical community resource in high demand. Taking more than necessary can leave your neighbors unprotected and deplete local emergency supplies.

New driver in the family? Set the rules before they take the keys 🔑:
✅ No phones
✅ No distractions
✅ Don’t speed
✅ Limit passengers
✅ Buckle up

Pinole Police Department is teaming up with NHTSA to support National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 18-24, 2026. Teen drivers need to know the Rules of the Road before parents hand over the keys. Ultimately, it's parents who are in control.

🚧 Heads up, Pinole! Major Weekend Closure Ahead 🚧
Caltrans has scheduled a 55-hour full closure of Appian Way from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 → 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16.
Here’s what to expect:
Caltrans will be installing a new traffic configuration on NB Appian Way as they prepare for the long-term closure of the SB Appian Overcrossing. Once the new configuration is in place, a long-term full closure of the southbound bridge begins for widening and structural upgrades.

⚠️Only one lane will remain open on the northbound bridge, carrying traffic in both directions — expect slower speeds and ramp-access changes.

🚫 No vehicles, bikes, or pedestrians will be allowed to cross Appian Way during the closure.
➡️ All traffic will be detoured onto I 80 (eastbound or westbound). Off ramps at Appian Way will be closed.
💡 Plan ahead, follow detour signs, and give yourself extra travel time.
🌦️ All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

💜Survivors deserve safety. Survivors deserve support. Survivors deserve solidarity. Survivors deserve ACTION.

Approximately 33% of women and 27% of men in California experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime. Early intervention is critical to preventing these cases from escalating, as many domestic violence incidents involve the use of weapons.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, please know you're not alone.
