Arbor Hose Company #1, Inc. - The Pride of the North Side

TWO DISTRICTS. ONE MISSION. ONE TEAM.

Earlier today, Arbor Hose Fire Company and New Market Fire Company (New Market Fire Department) came together for our first Box 1-3 Joint Training.

This training marked the beginning of a continued partnership focused on strengthening our skills, sharpening our tactics, and building the teamwork and communication essential to operating effectively on the fireground.

By training together, we become better prepared to respond together. Today's training is just the first of many opportunities to grow, learn, and strengthen our ability to serve the residents of Piscataway when they need us most.

A special thank you to all members from both departments who participated and demonstrated their dedication to training, teamwork, and service.

Two Districts. One Mission. One Team.
United in Service. Box 1-3 Crews. 🚒

We would also like to extend our appreciation to River Road Rescue Squad for providing standby coverage and ensuring the safety of our personnel while crews conducted live burn evolutions.

Tonight at around 17:30 hours, Arbor Hose was dispatched to cover during a second alarm fire in South Plainfield. En route, Middlesex County Coordinator directed Engine 42 to respond directly to the scene. Our crew assisted with extensive overhaul and worked side by side with neighboring companies. We want to thank South Plainfield Fire Company for the strong teamwork and professionalism.

PROBATION COMPLETE — BLACK SHIELDS EARNED!

Please join us in congratulating five members of Arbor Hose Fire Company who have successfully completed their probationary testing!

This test is more than just a final step in probation. Each member was required to demonstrate proficiency in essential firefighter survival skills, along with a thorough working knowledge of our primary response apparatus, equipment, and operations.

Having already successfully completed Firefighter I, these five members have now proven themselves through our station’s probationary process and have officially earned their black shields.

The black shield represents more than a change in helmet color, it represents the training, dedication, hard work, and commitment required to move forward as a firefighter at Station 40.

Congratulations to all five of our newest black-shield firefighters on reaching this milestone. Wear it with pride and continue building on everything you have learned.

Well earned. Congratulations! 🚒🔥

Last night, members of the Arbor Hose Fire Company traveled to Ground Zero to pay their respects and honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

During our visit, we also made a brief stop at FDNY Ten House, a firehouse that stood in the shadow of the World Trade Center and responded when our nation needed them most.

For many of our members who made the trip, September 11th is an event they were not yet born to witness. Yet they understand the tremendous sacrifice made that day and the responsibility their generation now carries to remember, honor, and continue the traditions of service and brotherhood demonstrated by those who came before them.

Twenty-five years later, their courage and selflessness continue to inspire a new generation of firefighters. The lessons of September 11th are not limited to those who lived through that day, they are passed down through the fire service from one generation to the next.

We remember those who went to work that morning and never returned home. We honor their families, their departments, and their sacrifice. Most importantly, we ensure their legacy lives on through our own commitment to serve.

Some witnessed it. Others learned about it. All of us have a responsibility to remember it.

25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We will never forget.

Tonight marked the beginning of a stronger partnership between Arbor Hose and New Market.

Members of Arbor Hose Fire Company and New Market Fire Company came together for a joint training focused on strengthening communication, coordination, and teamwork between both companies.

All with one common goal: providing the best possible service to the residents of District 1 and District 3.

As we train, respond, and grow together, we're taking proactive steps to better serve every resident in District 1 and District 3.

Two districts, one mission, one family.
