The Crawford County Sheriff's Office wants you to help keep our students safe. School bus safety week is a great opportunity to refresh your knowledge of school bus safety and learn how you can do your part to protect the children in our community!

October 19 - 23 is National School Bus Safety Week!

If you've followed us for awhile, you've seen us talk about how seriously we take the safety and security of the children in our community. We've teamed up with area schools and other law enforcement partners to watch for school bus violations. Keeping our children safe is always a top priority for us, and it deserves more than a once-a-year reminder.

If a school bus is stopped with red lights flashing and the stop arm out - STOP and remain stopped until the bus moves and both the red lights and stop arm are deactivated. If you don't, things get real expensive real quick.

Thank you to the School Bus Drivers that keep our children safe during every single trip!

Mrs. Hunt’s CTE Pathway Robotics class flew drones today! Students practiced connecting their drones to controllers before putting their skills to the test by navigating an obstacle course.
Thanks to a Pritchett Trust grant, these drones provide students with exciting, hands-on opportunities to build new skills, explore technology, and expand their knowledge!

We are excited to spend the rest of the semester with PHS Healthcare III students at Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas !

Through job shadowing, students will connect with professionals in pharmacy, physical therapy, dental, family medicine, walk-in care, nursing, and healthcare administration. We love giving students a firsthand look at community-based, integrated medicine and the many ways they can make a difference in their communities!

Pittsburg High School is excited to announce that the 2027 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 14, at 8:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Field.

PHS is planning a sunset graduation under the lights. The idea came from feedback shared by parents and staff, who felt an evening ceremony could create a nostalgic and memorable atmosphere for our graduates while offering potentially cooler temperatures for families and spectators.

An evening ceremony also provides a clearer plan for weather-related adjustments. If weather requires us to move the ceremony, our plan would be to reschedule it for a later date over the weekend.

We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2027 and this important milestone with our students, families, and community.
