It was a very exciting day in Brentwood this morning as my colleagues on the Board of Supervisors and I had the opportunity to “sign the beams” of what will be the new East County Administration building in Brentwood!

This project is moving along and right on schedule as we soon plan to house hundreds of east county workers in their own county building, providing much needed commute and traffic relief to Martinez.

The East County building is estimated to be complete in late 2027. The board of supervisors adopted the Capital Facilities Master Plan in 2022, and that established moving towards regional centers, and the east county was the first to be constructed. The east county is among the fastest growing regions throughout Contra Costa County!

I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at Tri Delta Transit yesterday for the completion of their brand new electric ⚡️ 🚎 charger and the their brand new electric bus 🚍!

I’m honored to serve on the Tri-Delta board alongside Chair Dionne Adams, Vice Chair Shannon Shaw and Board Member Louie Rocha. Together we are securing more wins like this for our community. I want to also thank the Bay Area Air District and ChargePoint for making this event possible!

It was a great day in Bay Point as we broke ground on the brand new, state-of-the-art Bay Point Library 📚 and the Orbisonia Village Housing development.

There are so many people, so many county staff members, and so many partners who made this incredible milestone for our community possible. Former Supervisor Federal Glover had a dream and vision for this project and now, thanks to continued county leadership—it’s a reality.

Bay Point is Contra Costa County’s largest unincorporated area. It’s a community that is more often than not underserved as a result. This is why today is meaningful. This is why today matters so much to each community member. Soon, Bay Point will have their own library, fostering learning and growth for generations to come.

Additionally, the Orbisonia Village housing project will include 167 units affordable to low income households. This is a promise made and promise kept to our residents when it comes to building more affordable housing 🏠

When fully built, the 7.6-acre Orbisonia Village will include 385 housing units, from studio’s to multiple bedroom units.

I’m honored to serve as your representative on the Board of Supervisors for Bay Point, Pittsburg and District V. I cannot wait to cut the ribbon 🎀 on these two buildings! Contra Costa County Library Rep. Mark DeSaulnier Office of Supervisor Diane Burgis John Gioia

: The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bay Point Library and Orbisonia Housing Development is happening tomorrow!

I’m thrilled our Bay Point residents will soon have a dedicated, state-of-the-art library they can call their own.

The new affordable housing development we’re also breaking ground on is a significant investment for the Bay Point Community. It shows we are serious about delivering the housing and resources our families deserve.

So join us tomorrow as we celebrate this incredible milestone for our community!

It was such a great time at the 9th Annual Bedford Block Part in Antioch!

A huge thank you to Choice in Aging for hosting this amazing event recently. Events like these support programs serving older adults, individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and people with other chronic health conditions.

The Bedford Center provides therapeutic services, social engagement, and support that help participants maintain their independence and remain in their communities. The center also offers caregivers respite, education, and resources to help them care for their loved ones.

The annual fundraiser featured food, music, dancing, and a bocce ball tournament. Proceeds benefit the Bedford Center’s programs and therapies, helping sustain services for participants and their caregivers throughout the region.

Also honored at the event was Sarah Yoell, recognized for her commitment to community service through her leadership throughout Contra Costa County.

These programs provide such a wonderful resource to our most vulnerable community members. I’m so proud and grateful I get to support events like these.

What a beautiful Saturday at Antioch Sycamore Community Day! A special thank-you to Unc, Ernest, for all his hard work and dedication in organizing such a meaningful event.

Much appreciation also goes to the participating organizations and volunteers who helped make the day so special.

The day was filled with youth talent, music, poetry, dance, a basketball game, jumpers, inspiring speakers, valuable resources, and free food. Most importantly, it created a space where our young people felt supported, celebrated, and inspired to see what is possible when their community shows up for them.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we all stand as one.
