Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or color, or if you see smoke. If it is safe, move the device away
from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can overheat and start a fire.

Unplug your device when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. For more info: fpw.org.

Use the cord and charger that came with your device or ones approved by the manufacturer. Using the wrong charger can damage the battery and increase the risk of fire. For more info: fpw.org.

Over the past two weeks, members of the Pittsburg Fire Department have been putting new rescue saws to the test through hands-on training and demonstrations. 🪚🔥

Crews had the opportunity to become familiar with the saws, practice different cutting techniques, and put the equipment through real-world scenarios, including vehicle extrication.

Hands-on training with new equipment is an important part of making sure our crews are prepared to operate safely and effectively when called upon.

We appreciate the opportunity to demo this equipment and continue improving the tools and skills we use to serve our community! 🚒💪
