National POW/MIA Recognition Day is held annually on the third Friday of September. To honor and remember the sacrifices made by our nation's prisoners of war and those missing in action.

Today we honor and respect our heroes who are Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA). As well as their families.

You are never forgotten.

Today, August 7, we honor our veterans on National Purple Heart Day. Are you a Veteran age 65 or older looking to improve your health and fitness through exercise? If so, and you are enrolled with us for health care, Virtual Gerofit might be an option for you. Virtual Gerofit is a VA wellness program designed for older Veterans.

To participate, you will need a stable internet connection. Technology assistance is available, if needed.

On Wednesday we had our second Resume & Professional Headshot workshop hosted by the Career Center! Students were given tips on their current resumes via a one-on-one session and then were able to get a professional headshot to add to their portfolio!

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the Panther Leadership Summit (PLS) for graduate and undergraduate students will be held on the University of Pittsburgh main campus. The half-day conference will center around topics such as navigating difficult conversations and situations, building community, and exploring their own beliefs and value systems. The Summit will also position student participants to connect with other leaders across campus and build a network for future collaborations.

Student participants will learn about a variety of critical leadership development-based topics and methods through which they can become more dynamic, resilient, and reflective leaders which in turn guides them to make an impact in the community.

Time: 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
