📣 Calling all wish kid graduates! 📣
It makes us so proud to see our wish kids getting their diplomas and moving on to the next stage of life, like Caitlyn, whose wish for a hot tub we granted in 2017.
If we granted you a wish and you’re now trading in your pencils and books for a cap and gown, share a photo in the comments! 📸 We’d love to celebrate with you. 💙📚🎒

At Make-A-Wish, we believe that a child’s emotional well-being is integral in their physical fight against a critical illness.
Research shows that wishes have a positive impact on the emotional well-being of wish kids, their families and those involved in a wish. With the hope of a wish, children with critical illnesses discover renewed optimism for brighter days ahead. Like Johanna, whose wish to go on a beach vacation reunited her with her loved ones and lifted her spirits.
“Make-A-Wish came into our lives to make us joyful in the middle of the storm … Thank you for giving my daughter a chance to feel alive again.” – Karla, Johanna’s mom 💙

We all know teamwork makes the dream work, and you can make that happen when you walk for Make-A-Wish at this year’s Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community!
We invite you to join us to help grant more wishes on May 30 at Point State Park in Downtown Pittsburgh. This amazing event brings people from across the region to support local nonprofits, like us.💙
Every step you take can give more children like Lucy the chance to be a kid again:
“The wish gave something for Lucy to dream about and look forward to during her treatment. After chemo, radiation, surgeries, etc., the trip was a great opportunity for Lucy to relax. She said her dreams came true to share family time in such a special place. It was a great opportunity for all of us after such a hard year.”
-Peter, Lucy’s Dad
Whether you are participating as a family, or as part of a team of employees trying to make a difference in your community, we would love to see you there!
Both 5k and 1-mile courses are available for all fitness levels, and all routes are accessible by wheelchairs, electric scooters, strollers, etc.
Register today and learn more about how to fundraise at: wish.org/greaterpawv/highmark-pittsburgh

Milly had just turned 13 when she was diagnosed last year with lymphoma. Instead of being out on the field playing lacrosse and field hockey with her team, cozied up at home playing Roblox or any of the other things she wanted to be doing— she suddenly found herself sat in a chair at the hospital for hours of treatments, surrounded by other children receiving the same thing.
So, when she found out that she could have a wish from Make-A-Wish, her mind immediately went to those other kids. Milly’s heartfelt wish was to donate toys, games and books to the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. 🧸🎧📚
“This is important to me because I want people to be happy and have something to do when they are getting chemo,” said Milly.
Milly could have used her wish on anything, but she used it to make others smile— and that’s why we’re smiling, too, on this . 😊
