PLC’s purpose is to provide educational services and community development/vitality programs that enrich the lives of those we serve.

Pittsburgh Learning Commons (PLC) was formed in 2016 by a group of graduate students and young professionals with origins in the greater Pittsburgh area. With a goal to create educational programming for communities that are in need and looking for resources, PLC is planting seeds in the greater Pittsburgh area in order to grow with the community. Calling all young artists and revolutionaries! is running an art contest on black historical inventors. Winners receive cash prizes and have their work put on display at a local gallery. Submit your painting, song, dance, poem or other form of art by February 14th. See flyer for details.

There's a FREE health fair on Saturday, February 26 from 11 - 3. UPMC is hosting this fair out of the Christian Church of Wilkinsburg at 748 Wallace Avenue. It will include screens for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, bone density, as well as consultations over medications with a physician and a pharmacist. Free rides to Magee Hospital for a mammogram will also be provided.

Wilkinsburg Clean-Up day is happening tomorrow, Saturday May 15th 8am - 1pm. The events of the day begin with 8am with a welcome by Council and continental breakfast, distribution of free gloves, garbage bags and vests from PennDOT. At 12:30pm people will meet at Penn Avenue Park for a celebratory lunch of hotdogs, chips and drinks along with great conversation with community folks.
