UPDATE FROM the FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency

FEMA is making $648M available to help firefighters and first responders nationwide get the equipment, staffing and support they need to protect lives and communities. The funding includes:

• $291.6M for equipment, vehicles, PPE and responder wellness
• $324M to help departments hire, recruit and retain firefighters
• $32.4M for fire prevention and firefighter safety research

Congratulations to paramedic Laura Martin assuming her new role today as the deputy EMS CHIEF for Pennsylvania Lancaster County’s Ephrata Community Ambulance Association as Martin brings many years of EMS industry experience to ECAA! MMS is proud to represent ECAA in their yearly mailings!

Exciting day at Ephrata Ambulance as its the first shift of our first Career Full Time Deputy EMS Chief Laura Martin. Laura will mainly take lead on the operational side of the agency, working closely with our EMS Manager Kevin Wolf. Laura Martin is a certified Paramedic, has a Bachelor Degree from Lebanon Valley College and Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership from Messiah University. She also comes with over 20 years of EMS experience. Stay tune as we launch our additional operational officers June 1.

Pennsylvania’s Moshannon Valley EMS congratulates new NREMT!!

We would like to congratulate Alisha Surkovic on successfully gaining her certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician today! Alisha began her career with MVEMS in January and was a cadet of our EMT Academy. Alisha comes from a long line of pre-hospital providers in her family, including her parents and grandparents, all who have helped shape our service over several decades.
