Thank you to Allegheny County Council for recognizing Partner4Work’s commitment to strengthening our region’s construction workforce during Careers in Construction Month! A special thank you to Council Member DeWitt Walton for sponsoring the proclamation.

Over the last year, 150 participants graduated from our 4Construction programs, with 106 moving into union pathways. These numbers represent individuals gaining valuable skills, hands-on experience, and opportunities to build family-sustaining careers.

This work wouldn't be possible without the employers, labor unions, training providers, and community partners who help create these pathways. Together, we're preparing the next generation of skilled workers while helping meet the growing needs of our region's construction industry.

We're grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing this work alongside our partners!

Applications are now open for the Catalyze Pittsburgh Challenge!

The $1.5 million regional funding challenge is seeking bold, early-stage ideas to advance career-connected learning across Southwestern Pennsylvania. In collaboration with and King Mellon Foundation, funding is available for innovations designed to help young people connect their passions to careers in emerging industries and occupations.

Organizations in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland counties are eligible to apply.

Applications close Oct. 30.

We’re seeking bold new ideas to connect young people with the careers shaping Southwestern Pennsylvania’s future.

The Richard King Mellon Foundation, the national Catalyze Challenge and Partner4Work are launching Catalyze Pittsburgh—a $1.5 million regional funding challenge supporting innovative, early-stage career-connected learning initiatives for young people ages 11–18.

Eligible organizations must serve youth in one or more of the following counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland.

The first application period will run from September 22 through October 30, 2026.

Yesterday, we held the 2026 press conference at New Century Careers and heard from County Executive , , Learn & Earn Chair Debra Caplan, former participant Leon Wade, President & CEO Neil Ashbaugh, and Partner4Work CEO Rob Cherry about the impact and opportunities offered through the program.
 
This summer, young people will step into real workplaces across a wide range of industries, from corporate offices to advanced manufacturing and emerging tech, gaining experiences that can shape how they see their future.
