Pittsburgh's first gay pride parade was held in 1973 to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. It went from Market Square to Schenley Park. According to Jim Sheppard of QBurg it began with 50 people and ended with 100. Last year's pride parade drew more than 100,000 people.

The Housing Opportunity Fund (HOF) is a local funding source of $10 million per year to support affordable housing needs in Pittsburgh. The Annual Allocation Plan outlines how the funds will be used.
