This Memorial Day, Pittsburgh Police volunteers from two basic recruit classes chose to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice by participating in the “Murph.”
The grueling workout is named for Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005. The workout has grown in popularity as a physical tribute to his memory.
This is the first time recruit classes have participated in the Murph, which training academy instructors plan to make an annual Memorial Day tradition.
