Four years ago, Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The resulting loss of life and ongoing suffering remain a horrifying reality. SLI reiterates its solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Several "Pittsburgh for Ukraine" events are planned on campus this evening — please join if you are able (see the flier in the photo for details).

Tomorrow is the Day of Giving! Help SLI raise funds for scholarships and help keep our many languages and levels open in 2026!! Options available to designate funds for certain regions' languages this year. ❤️

February 24th is Pitt’s Day of Giving! The Day of Giving is focused on participation than dollar amounts, so even the minimum $5 gift helps us reach our donor goals and receive bonus funding awards.

Donations will support scholarships, less-commonly-taught languages and extended language level offerings, local excursions and cultural events, community engagement programming.

Donors have the option to choose one of three options when they give:

· General Summer Language Institute Support

· Polish and Ukrainian Program Support

· Balkan and Black Sea Program Support
