On January 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared the freedom of enslaved individuals in the Confederate states. However, due to the lack of military presence needed to implement the proclamation, slavery continued in much of the deep south. On June 19, 1865, more than two years later, Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Texas and announced that the relationship between enslavers and the enslaved had legally ended. This Juneteenth, we celebrate the freedom, resilience, and progress that have come from that day in 1865 and also reflect on the history of slavery and the ongoing pursuit of equity in the United States.

The HACP hopes to see you this Friday, May 1 for the One Roof Housing Resource Fair, held at the Commonwealth Charter Academy (162 East Bridge St., Homestead, PA 15120). The event will take place from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

This is a one-stop opportunity for guests to connect with housing resources, financial education, legal support, and real pathways forward!

For at least the third year in a row, Vintage has been selected as a beneficiary of the Polished Dental monthly donation campaign. We’re incredibly grateful for local organizations and businesses that continue to include us in their philanthropy. Your support truly makes a difference. 💜💜💜

This week, we delivered a carload of donations to Vintage Center for Active Adults in East Liberty! 💜

Vintage provides wonderful programs and support for seniors in our community, and we’re proud to partner with them each year. Food donations are distributed to seniors who need them most, and non-food items often serve as prizes for their popular Bingo games.

Thank you to our team for helping make this project possible and to our patients for showing up for our community once again.
