Sara joined the OCC to help raise awareness about mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding it. As she works toward her goal of becoming a forensic psychologist, her time with the OCC has shown her the power of community, connection, and supporting others through difficult moments. ๐
โI have learned the importance of being a part of the community and giving back support for mental health especially when things are hard. I have also found a sense of community in the outreach crew! I absolutely love the girls I get to meet with and do podcasts with!โ

Rhianna is a graduate of Duquesne University who joined the OCC to deepen her ability to support others on their mental health journeys with empathy, compassion, and understanding. Through her experience, sheโs seen firsthand how open conversations and accurate information can help break down stigma and encourage people to seek support. ๐

This weekโs OCC Member Spotlight is Nancy Ho! โจ
As the Outreach College Crewโs Co-Event Coordinator, Nancy learned that mental health advocacy is most impactful when itโs collaborative. She played a pivotal role in planning our fall Mental Health Open Mic Night and this springโs Mental Health Carousel Rolling Social. Through these experiences Nancy says she discovered, โLeadership isn't just about organizing; it's about creating safe, brave spaces where people feel empowered to share their stories and realize they aren't alone.โ ๐

OCC member spotlight #3 goes to Lily Simons! โจ
You may recognize Lily from our 2024โ25 Outreach College Crew โ and weโre so excited to have her back continuing to make an impact. ๐
Lily joined the OCC with the goal of sharing accurate mental health information and inspiring others along their journey. Through her experience, sheโs not only helped support her peers, but has also learned more about herself along the way.
