Twenty-five years ago, we tragically lost a great firefighter, husband, father, and friend who did what he loved, serving the great community of Ross Township. Bobby was operating a pump at a structure fire in his home fire district of Perrysville on Hillendale Rd when he suffered a medical emergency. Never Forgotten will take it from here, brother. RIP Bob Winner
March 16, 2001 - LODD
Firefighter Robert “Bob” J. Winner, 54
Perrysville Volunteer Fire Department. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Firefighter Winner was the driver of the second-due engine company responding to a residential structure fire. Firefighter Winner was assigned to pump the hydrant supplying the attack pumper at the scene of the fire. While Firefighter Winner was setting up his unit to pump, he began to experience chest pains. He used a radio to call for EMS assistance. Medical personnel, including a doctor, were at his side in minutes. Despite efforts at the scene and enroute to the hospital, Firefighter Winner died of a heart attack.

PLEASE READ THIS POST AND SHARE ASAP!!
Before our fish fry, at about 2:15, we had a devastating fire call to respond to, one of our own, Ray Wroblewski, had a fire at his house. We're not sure what happened and we're guessing it's a total loss. Ray is a life member of our department, as well as the previous Chief of Chalfant Fire department, station 120. His wife Eileen also played a key role in 120 for many years. They all got out ok except for a few pets.
We are going to be collecting for them:
Clothes (mens 4x-5x, women's 2x, young mens xl-2xl)
Gift cards (target, Walmart, Visa)
Meals
Grocery store gift cards
Cash
Comfort items (pillows, blankets, etc)
Toiletries
Phone chargers
Also,
As most of you know, at our weekly fish Fry's, we have a donation jar for our fire department. Next week's fish fry donations will all go to the Wroblewski family.
We're also working on possibly holding a raffle for them in the coming week to help out.
Anything helps. Please drop all donations at Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 located at 109 Powell St. East Pittsburgh, Pa 15112. If nobody is present, please send us a message on Facebook Messenger or please leave donations on our side porch where you enter in for the fish fry.
All help is so greatly appreciated.
