Over 200 tenants and residents of West and Southwest Philly at our town hall to save the Neighborhood Restorations Homes yesterday. 7 elected officials made commitments to support our demands to keep these properties affordable and allow Interested tenants to purchase their homes. 3000 tenants could be displaced if action isn’t taken.

Last month, we won a new law for Allegheny County that expands protections for tenants to advocate for our rights without fear of retaliation from our landlords. Let’s use these new protections to pack the town hall and demand action for safe, livable homes in Allegheny County!

On this day, lets remember that the federal criminalization of ma*****na is responsible for countless people being needlessly sent to prison, robbing us of friends and families, not to mention wasting taxpayer dollars.
In the upcoming Democratic Primary for the 3rd Congressional District, there is only one candidate who is clear in his stance, that he will press for federal legislation to legalize ma*****na, giving our communities relief. That candidate is Chris Rabb.
This is why One Pennsylvania, and many of our allies like Make the Road Action in Pa, Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance, and Working Families Party, endorse Chris Rabb for Congress.
Keep West Philly affordable - Save Neighborhood Restorations. Neighborhood Restorations owns 925 units of affordable housing in West and Southwest Philly that could be sold as soon as this July. If they were sold to a developer, this could displace thousands of people and raise housing costs for everyone. Tenants and community members are calling on the city to purchase the units to keep them permanently affordable and sell them back to tenants at a truly affordable rate.
