Happy hour with dogs? Yep! The YLD Chair Project of Rebeca Himena Miller-Sekinger brought us “Paws and Pints,” where “therapets” joined attendees for happy hour at Southern Tier Brewery. Attendees took a break from the stresses of work to hang out with Meadow and Tegan while enjoying drinks and food on the North Shore. In addition to happy hour, members brought pet supplies to help out furry friends at Animal Friends. A special thank you to Title Sponsor Leech Tishman for sponsoring this event.

Meet Hannah Barnett! Hannah is in her second year serving on YLD Council as Co-Chair of the Communications Committee, and previously served on the Public Service Committee. She’s a Pittsburgh native and proud Pittsburgh Promise alumna. She currently practices planned community law and estate planning at LMBH Legal Services, LLC. Hannah first became involved with the YLD through the Bar Leadership Initiative (BLI), sharing: “My participation in BLI showed me that I enjoyed collaborating with other young attorneys who come together to support causes greater than ourselves. That experience ultimately led me to Council.” When reflecting on her time with the YLD, Hannah shared: “My favorite YLD memories come from building connections with and working alongside dedicated, passionate young attorneys who are committed not only to their own professional and personal growth, but also committed to strengthening the profession and the communities we serve. This YLD zeal is palpable at our events and fundraisers, and I hope it continues to inspire more law students and young attorneys.” Thank you, Hannah, for your dedication and service to the YLD and Communications Committee this year!

Meet the Member Services Committee! The Member Services Committee focuses on creating social and networking opportunities that bring young lawyers together in welcoming, informal settings. Through these events, members can build meaningful professional relationships, connect with judges and fellow attorneys, and strengthen their involvement in the legal community. Some of the committee’s signature events include Happy Hours, Trivia with the Judges, the Annual Holiday Party, and the Esquire Open. One thing people may not realize about the Member Services Committee is the important role it plays in helping young lawyers feel welcomed and connected within the profession. Behind every event is a dedicated group working to create opportunities for engagement, mentorship, and community-building within the YLD.
