Doing my part on this Veterans’ Day! Wills for Heroes Pennsylvania
Thanks to Wills for Heroes Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Young Lawyers for organizing today’s event! Lots of estate docs were notarized for our area’s first responders!
Tomorrow I will be doing volunteer notary work for Wills for Heroes Pennsylvania at Penn Hills VFD #7. Stop in and say hello.

As a notary, I can refuse to notarize a document for any reason. This is not reflection on the customer and is not personal. It is a professional decision on my part. Some documents, such as Penndot documents that involve vehicle transfers, I am not permitted to notarize because I am not a Penndot notary. Other documents, such as self-drafted custody and divorce agreements, or other self-drafted affidavits, I will refuse to notarize because they should be reviewed by a lawyer prior to ex*****on. This is for your protection, as well as mine.

I have been a notary in Pennsylvania since 2006 and I am still learning new things! Until recently, I acted as a notary only in conjunction with my employer’s needs. I decided to create this page to make it easier for customers to find me and to provide easy to access information about what a notary is and the types of services I provide.
Many people believe that a paper is legally binding and enforceable if it is signed in the presence of a notary. You may be surprised to learn that this is a myth. In most documents, a notary’s stamp and seal provide proof that the party who executed the document is, in fact, the person whose signature appears on that document and that he or she is not signing that document under duress. That’s it. If you have any important document such as a will, power of attorney, settlement agreement, guardianship papers or a contract that may affect your rights, you should take that document to a lawyer and ask him or her to review it carefully before you sign it. Taking the time to review your document with a lawyer can save you headaches and money down the road if you have a problem.
It’s important to remember that unless your notary is a licensed attorney, he or she cannot give you legal advice!
My office offers reasonably priced, professional notary services in Edgewood and Swissvale. I am convenient to public transportation and the Parkway. Parking is free. I do not offer PennDot tags or transfers at this time.
