Foxwall EMS has had a busy couple of weeks with sporting and community events.
On Sunday, we staffed two ambulances and two electric bikes, providing medical coverage for our partners at Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS to assist with the Pittsburgh Marathon. All of the vehicles provided by Foxwall were ALS staffed and our units provided medical care to attendees and bystanders.
We also participated with Aspinwall Police Department in the Drug Take Back Day. This program provides an opportunity to bring any medication to the police department for disposal. The program does not gather demographic information. Your medications are deposited by you into a box that will be sealed for transport to be disposed of. Keep your eyes peeled for another Drug Take Back Day this Fall!
Foxwall EMS has also been providing medical coverage for Pittsburgh Youth Lacrosse this Spring in our community.
We are proud to be partners with our neighboring public safety agencies and of our community engagement!

Run For The Hill Of It (RFTHOI) was on Sunday, and what a turnout it was! Almost 400 participants braved the Hill and either ran or walked to the top, or met at the top to cheer on the runners and walkers and enjoy the celebration in the park!
There are SO many people to thank. First, we thank Rob Tenenini who is a former Foxwall EMS Board member and President, and who is the brainchild of RFTHOI. Even though Rob is no longer on our Board, he continues to coordinate this event, now in its fifth year. Rob works tirelessly in front of and behind the scenes to ensure the success of the Run. We thank our Board of Directors who helped in so many capacities, many who joined Rob on the Run!
We thank our communities and all who support us and came out to join the fun. We thank our staff and volunteers, Aspinwall Borough, Aspinwall Police and Fire Departments who made sure everyone was safe and healthy.
We thank the presenter, UPMC St. Margaret Hospital and the following sponsors:

Foxwall EMS has had a very busy weekend! Since this past Thursday, we have been dispatched to over two dozen emergency calls. We attended Fox Chapel Area School District Opportunities Fair on Friday and their Safety, Health, and Wellness event on Saturday where we partnered with West Deer EMS at both.
Foxwall EMS also covered four sporting event stand-bys and our dedicated non-emergency transport truck handled multiple patient transfers. Additionally, our staff spent some time training new EMS providers.
We are proud to serve our communities and thank our personnel for their dedication! Enjoy the pics!

Yesterday, the Borough of Fox Chapel held its first ever Easter Egg Hunt and Foxwall EMS is thrilled to have partnered with them and provide our station for the activities!
A lot of preparation goes into an event such as this, and the Fox Chapel Police Department worked tirelessly to make the day a huge success for the kids.
Alongside the Police Department and Public Works, community members and high school students volunteered their time and were ready when several hundred people braved the cold temperatures and converged on our station to hunt for eggs, get pictures with the Easter Bunny, and much more!
We at Foxwall EMS look forward to many more partnerships and events in our communities - ENJOY the pics!
