A little rain (all 3 mornings!) couldn’t stop us from celebrating Walk, Bike and Roll to School days at ECS high, middle and intermediate schools this year!
We celebrated our District’s commitment to active and sustainable transportation with raffles, smoothies and more! We are so proud of all of our students and families who show their commitment to sustainable modes of transportation every day (including roller skates)!
Huge thanks to BikeECS for coordinating these events and all of the incredible biking programming we are so lucky to have at ECS.

Our 9th graders had an incredible Aqua Lab Adventure at at Moraine State Park last week!
Watch this great video from their trip - they learned how to sample for microplastics, explore the hidden impacts of pollution, and build a deeper, more meaningful connection to the waterways around them. Through paddleboarding, hands-on science, and outdoor exploration, students become both researchers and stewards of their local environment.
Led by the Watersmith Guild, Aqua Lab Adventures blends environmental education, adventure, and storytelling to empower the next generation of changemakers—one waterway at a time.

What an incredible opportunity for our students!
ECS students who are part of Hosanna House, Inc.’s Center for Aviation Technology and Training (CATT) took their learning to the skies with exciting discovery flights at County Airport.
For many, this was their first time in a small aircraft, and some even had the opportunity to take the controls.
Through hands-on experiences like this, students are building confidence, exploring STEM careers, and discovering that their future has no limits.
🚀 The sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning.

We had a great visit with Mayor O'Connor yesterday! The Mayor spent about an hour with MS, sharing his hopes and vision for Pittsburgh and fielding questions from students. From asking what his plans are for the City, to how he hopes to tackle affordable housing, knotweed, and the energy grid - students had a chance to dig into the pressing
issues, and even get autographs. Thanks for the Visit Mayor!
