The district is made up of six municipalities which include: Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana, O’Hara, and Sharpsburg. This includes an area of about 36 square miles with approximately 30,000 residents. The population represents a wide range of social, economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. The school district provides a comprehensive array of educational opportunities to serve the needs of this diverse population and to meet the high expectations of its residents. The total enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year is 4,272 students. There are 1,827 students at the elementary level (340 at Fairview, 325 at Hartwood, 432 at Kerr, and 730 at O’Hara); 1,035 students at the middle school; and 1,410 students at the high school. A total of 353 students were members of the Fox Chapel Area High School Class of 2013. Of those graduates, 325 (92%) are continuing their education: 278 (78.7%) are attending 4-year colleges and 47 (13.3%) are attending 2-year colleges. Of those students continuing their education at four-year institutions, 123 (44.2%) are enrolled in colleges or universities outside of Pennsylvania. National Merit Finalists
