urgh’s university and cultural center, and approximately a 25-minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh. The district is made up of six municipalities which include: Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana, O’Hara, and Sharpsburg. This includes an area of about 36 square miles with approximately 30,000 residents. The population represents a wide range of social, economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. The school district provides a comprehensive array of educational opportunities to serve the needs of this diverse population and to meet the high expectations of its residents. The total enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year is 4,272 students. There are 1,827 students at the elementary level (340 at Fairview, 325 at Hartwood, 432 at Kerr, and 730 at O’Hara); 1,035 students at the middle school; and 1,410 students at the high school. A total of 353 students were members of the Fox Chapel Area High School Class of 2013. Of those graduates, 325 (92%) are continuing their education: 278 (78.7%) are attending 4-year colleges and 47 (13.3%) are attending 2-year colleges. Of those students continuing their education at four-year institutions, 123 (44.2%) are enrolled in colleges or universities outside of Pennsylvania. National Merit Finalists

A total of 296 members (84 percent) of the 353 students in the Class of 2013 took the SAT during their junior or senior year. The national average scores for all 2013 graduates taking the test were 496 in critical reading, 514 in math, and 488 in writing.
