66 years ago today, Bill Mazeroski hit the only walk-off home run to ever end a World Series Game 7. Right here in Oakland. Right here at Forbes Field.

This photo was taken from the Cathedral of Learning as the entire neighborhood lost its mind.

The first October 13th without Maz, but the moment lives forever in Oakland.

Over the counter voting is being offered at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall this Wednesday (Today) and Thursday (10/7 and 10/8) from 9am to 4pm. You can register, apply for, receive, vote, and return your mail-in or absentee ballot all in one visit.

There's a window inside the Carnegie Library on Pitt's campus that looks directly down on the dinosaurs in the Carnegie Museum. Most people have no idea it's there.

One of Oakland's best kept secrets hiding in plain sight. Next time you're on campus, go find it. You'll know it when you see it.

Disability Pride Pittsburgh is TOMORROW at Schenley Plaza. The 5th annual celebration runs from 12 to 4pm. Free, accessible, and open to everyone.

At Disability Pride PA, access isn't an add on. It's the foundation. This event is built so disabled people can participate fully, safely, and with dignity.

The best dressed dinosaur on Forbes Ave. Over the years he's rocked everything from a Terrible Towel to a Pride scarf to a shamrock for St. Patrick's Day. If something's happening in Pittsburgh, Dippy is dressed for it.

Standing 22 feet tall and stretching 84 feet long, Dippy is a replica of a Diplodocus carnegii, a species actually discovered by Carnegie Museum paleontologists back in 1899. The original skeleton inside the museum became such a sensation that replicas were sent to nine museums around the world. The outdoor Dippy you see on Forbes Ave weighs 3,000 pounds and has become one of the most recognized landmarks in Oakland.

Did you know the original home plate from Forbes Field is still in its exact location? Maybe moved a few feet or else it'd be in the mens bathroom. It's encased in glass on the first floor of Posvar Hall on Pitt's campus.

Forbes Field opened in 1909 and was home to the Pittsburgh Pirates for over 60 years. This is where Bill Mazeroski hit the walk-off home run to win the 1960 World Series. When the stadium was demolished and Pitt built over the site, they preserved home plate right where it was.

You can walk in and see it any time. Most people in Pittsburgh have never been. If you're in Oakland, go find it.
