On September 6th, Squad 247 was dispatched to a business on McKnight Road for an individual in cardiac arrest. Staffed by Deputy Fire Chief Brian Murray, SQ247 immediately responded and arrived to confirm a male in cardiac arrest. Working together with our colleagues at Ross West View EMSA, Ross Township Police Department, and Allegheny County Emergency Services 911, high-quality CPR, defibrillation, and advanced medical care was quickly provided. The individual was successfully transported to the hospital and, after additional treatment, returned home to begin recovery.
Last night, DFC Murray was recognized with a life-saving award by Ross Township alongside other first responders. Engine 247 was also in attendance to congratulate our brother, but had to leave early for a first due box alarm and additional emergency calls.
