Run Fast, Bite Hard

Today we remember K9 Rocco who paid the ultimate sacrifice on this date twelve years ago. Rocco died protecting the citizens of Pittsburgh, his fellow police officers and his handler Officer Phil Lerza.

“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.”

RIP Rocco your sacrifice will never be forgotten..

As a result of Rocco’s sacrifice, Rocco’s Law was passed. Under the law, hurting or killing a police dog would be a second-degree felony and carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

PRAYING FOR K9 ROCKY!!

K9 Rocky with the U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group is a 1½ year old Belgian Malinois that found the suspect in the shooting death of Brazoria County Sheriff’s Deputy Jesus Vargas.

That suspect hid and shot Rocky multiple times in the neck after he sniffed him out in a dumpster. K9 Rocky is in stable condition and is expected to recover. What a good boy! 🐾
