Monica Spillane's class at McIntyre Elementary celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on Friday with a day of learning, kindness, and inclusion. Observed each year on March 21 (3/21 to represent the three copies of the 21st chromosome), this global day highlights the importance of celebrating individuals with Down syndrome while promoting acceptance and equal opportunities for all.

Students learned what makes each person unique and why differences should be embraced, and were especially to honor and support their amazing classmate, Alayna. ๐Ÿซถ To mark the occasion, everyone rocked their crazy socks โ€” a symbol of individuality and a fun way to spark conversations about acceptance. ๐Ÿงฆ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Officer Rob recently visited Mrs. Bozichโ€™s second grade classroom at McIntyre Elementary School, where students shared sweet messages and drawings to thank him for helping keep their school safe. During his visit, he talked about his important role in our school community, read a story to the class and answered lots of thoughtful questions from curious students. We are grateful for the strong relationships that help make our schools welcoming, safe and supportive places to learn. Thank you for your time, Officer Rob โ€” we appreciate you and the rest of our NHSD police! ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธโค๏ธ

McIntyre Elementary School second graders celebrated 80 days of school with an '80s-themed dance party last Friday! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿชฉ๐Ÿ•บ Students were encouraged to dress for the decade and took part in fun, 1980s-inspired activities. We love this annual tradition!

Last Friday was actually the 87th day of school which means today is the 90th day and we are halfway through the school year! ๐ŸŽ‰
