We have several important updates to share from our recent meeting. We'd like to congratulate Spencer Vincent and Johnathan Cocco on their promotion to interior firefighters. We also want to express our sincere appreciation to Ryan Arenth on his appointment as our new Engine Lieutenant. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. Finally, we extend a warm welcome to Alissa Kohan, our new administrative member, and Indy, our newest active member. Peebles District VFC would like to give a huge shoutout and sincere thank you to the Auto Collision Class at A.W. Beattie Career Center for taking the time to buff, wax, and help restore our 1953 Mack fire truck!

A special thank you to Pat Ciccone and his team for their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail in bringing new life back to this piece of our department’s history. We would also like to thank Dan Yaworski from Autoality for generously providing the compounds used to complete the restoration process.

Congratulations to FF/Paramedics (left to right) Zach Glavin, Ryan Hendricks, and Eric Toledo for completing the University of Pittsburgh's/Center for Emergency Medicine paramedic program! All three have dedicated hundreds of hours of class and clinical time to advance their EMS certifications, all while continuing to serve at PDVFC. All three have passed their National Registry exams, making them Nationally Certified Paramedics.

Exciting news for our QRS program! PDVFC recently placed into service portable nitrous oxide units as part of the BLS Nitrous Pilot Program. This allows our EMTs to adminster nitrous oxide as a pain management option. Previously, this medication was restricted to ALS providers (AEMTs and Paramedics). This makes PDVFC the first and ONLY fire department in Pennsylvania to be approved for this program.

Nitrous oxide is a safe, effective, and quick pharmacological option to treat pain pre-hospitally. We are excited to implement this new equipment and medication to continue providing our residents with the highest level of care!

Congratulations to FF Bobby Hershey on graduating from Grove City College! Bobby is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Design and Innovation. Bobby has been a member for the past several years, juggling his responsibilities at the fire hall with his education. We are proud of Bobby for his accomplishments!

Tonight’s meeting covered various membership items. We have had a move in our line, so please congratulate Deputy chief Andrew Ferrante, Assistant chief Zachary Paris, Engine captain Joe Zewe, and Rescue captain Seth Senko! We would also like to congratulate our new member Nick Langdon, and our president ,Melissa Williams, for 20 years of volunteering to serve the town of McCandless!
