Today, our department remembers the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, service members, and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we will never forget the sacrifices made that day or the unity that followed.

On this Friday, 9/11, take a moment to remember those we lost, honor those who answered the call, and continue to stand together as Americans.

We are excited to officially welcome Dutchess, our new therapy dog, to the community!

Dutchess is a German Shepherd and Labradoodle mix, partnered with her handler, Sgt. Clint Weir. Together, they will be serving all three schools in the district, providing comfort, support, and a friendly presence for students and staff.

In addition to working within the schools, Dutchess will also assist during incidents involving children, helping to bring a sense of calm during difficult situations. Her role is an important part of our continued commitment to the safety, well-being, and emotional support of our community.

We would also like to acknowledge that this program was made possible by significant monetary contributions from Whitetail Properties and The Maschhoffs! Thank you for the continued support to the community and the Pittsfield Police Department!!

Please join us in welcoming Dutchess and Sgt. Weir to their new role—we’re glad to have them on the team!
