Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Pittsfield Police Department pauses to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost during the tragic events at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

We pay tribute to the brave first responders—343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and numerous other personnel split among other agencies—who ran toward danger without hesitation, making the ultimate sacrifice to save others. Their courage, heroism, and selfless service embody the very best of humanity.

To the families who carry the weight of loss every single day, to our veterans, and to all those affected, our thoughts and prayers remain with you.

As we reflect on this solemn day, let us renew our commitment to unity, community, and service to one another.

We are also encouraging residents to purchase some sort of camera system and install them on the outside of your residence aimed at vehicles. Thank you all for your time and be safe!
