Pittsford Volunteer Fire Department would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out to our open house. It was wonderful seeing so many neighbors, friends, and families tour the station, explore the trucks, and talk about fire safety.

We appreciate your ongoing support, your great questions, and the trust you place in our department every day.

Your enthusiasm means the world to our volunteers and we are proud to serve this community.

Thank you to Pittsford Ambulance, the Monroe County Sheriffs Department and the Monroe County Traffic Safety and STOP-DWI for participating today.

Car fires are just one of the emergencies the Pittsford Volunteer Fire Department handles. As technology and materials change, our emergency firefighters constantly update their knowledge and dedicate hours to hands-on practice to stay ready.

While Pittsford is fortunate to experience fewer severe fires than neighboring communities, the Pittsford Fire Department remains fully committed to preparedness.

Structural firefighting is one of the most hazardous duties our team faces, making hands-on, live fire drills absolutely essential for sharp decision-making and crew safety.

This training is indispensable to firefighter safety and service proficiency.

The Pittsford Fire Department would like to thank the Brighton Fire District and Department for granting access to their training facility.

A huge thank you to Rayson Miller Post 899for their incredible support of our local firefighters! Before demolishing their old shed to make way for a new one, these local veterans generously allowed our team to use the structure for critical saw training. Having access to real-world structures is invaluable, giving our firefighters hands-on experience that sharpens their skills before real emergencies strike. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our veterans!

Twenty-five years ago, the world changed forever. Today, the Pittsford Fire Department pauses to honor the thousands of innocent civilians, emergency personnel and the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11 and the countless emergency personnel who have since succumbed to 9/11-related illnesses. We remember the bravery of those who ran toward danger, putting the lives of others above their own.
Our promise to them has not faded with time. We will continue to educate the next generation, climb in their honor, and fly our flags with pride. Time moves on, but our promise remains absolute: we will never forget.

Marking 25 years since the tragic loss of 343 firefighters in the 9/11 attacks, members of the Pittsford Fire Department joined with other departments yesterday for the annual 9/11 Memorial
Stair Climb. By participating in the Memorial
Stair Climb, our department continues to honor their legacy and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.
