As we wrap up another weekend the Barque Eagle, Bundy, and Nautilus Divisions want to thank Neff Productions for giving us the opportunity to participate in the CT Heritage Maritime Festival and Opsail event celebrating America’s 250th Birthday.
Our cadets were the color guard for a parade, helped manage crowds, set up and broke down tents and fielded questions about the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps program in our own tent while helping other vendors in their tents.
We were able to reunite with the OOD of the great United States Coast Guard Barque EAGLE ship and make new connections with the Navy Stem Crew supported by Ensign Bickford Industries located at UCONN and met with many auxiliary members who shared historical knowledge and stories of the many military structures in the area such as the Ledge Lighthouse and Foundation.
The Coast Guard Academy, The U.S. Navy, and The Navy League made time to speak with us and we are so very blessed for all new acquaintances made and future collaborations that will come from them.
Thank you to all the cadets who attended, their families that traveled to get them there, and the Officers whose unwavering devotion to the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Program make these experiences possible! 🇺🇸⚓️🇺🇸
Barque Eagle Division has an orientation at the Plainville Marine and Army base on Sat Oct 17th at 10a. Please DM us for more information.
*Note - If you attended please send your pictures so I can add to this post.
