The Plainville Fire Department was honored to host the Norfolk County Fire Chiefs Professional Development Conference, providing firefighters with a valuable day of hands-on training and education.

A special thank you to IPS Industrial Protection Services, LLC for sponsoring this event and providing the equipment and tools necessary to make this training possible.

Lead Instructor Dan Rinaldi of the Providence Fire Department put together an outstanding day of instruction focused on vehicle extrication, vehicle stabilization, and air bag operations. We would also like to recognize fellow instructors Mike Kelly and Chris Cahoon of the Providence Fire Department, along with Sean Hughes of Boston Rescue 1, for sharing their knowledge and experience with the group.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to T&D, C&L, and Auto Rescue Towing for providing the vehicles and putting in the time and effort to help make this training a success. Thank you to Jemco Disposal for providing the dumpster for the class.

Professional development and hands-on training are essential to keeping our firefighters prepared to safely and effectively serve our communities.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, equipment, and expertise to make this a successful training day!

Upon arrival, crews determined that the driver had experienced a medical emergency, which contributed to the crash. Firefighters successfully extricated the occupant, who was subsequently transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
