🔥🚒 PLAISTOW FIRE & EMS HOT WEATHER PSA 🚑🔥
Attention, Plaistow!
Mother Nature has apparently confused New Hampshire with the surface of the sun this week. 🥵
A few friendly reminders from your local Fire & EMS crews:
☀️ Drink water... and no, coffee, Mountain Dew, and "just one more iced Dunkin'" don't count.
🌡️ If the sidewalk is too hot for your bare feet, it's probably too hot for your dog, too. Protect those paws!
🚗 Please don't leave kids, pets, or your uncle Bob in a parked car—even "just for a minute." Cars heat up faster than a firefighter putting on turnout gear.
👴 Check on your neighbors, especially older adults or anyone without air conditioning. A quick visit or phone call can make a big difference.
🔥 If your mailbox is melting, maybe skip the backyard bonfire this week.
😎 If you're working outside, take frequent breaks in the shade and remember: sunscreen is cheaper than aloe vera.
🚨 Most importantly, if someone becomes confused, stops sweating, faints, or has trouble staying awake, don't "wait and see." Call 9-1-1 immediately. Heat stroke is a true medical emergency.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and let's keep our ambulances available for real emergencies—not because someone tried to mow the lawn at high noon "to beat the heat."
Your friends at Plaistow Fire & EMS wish everyone a safe (and hopefully much cooler) week! 🚒💙
